A Lot of Words
The Oxford English Dictionary (OED) has more than 500,000 entries in its more than 21,000 pages spanning 20 volumes; some 137 pounds of books. Ammon Shea spent a year reading the OED—the whole thing. Reading the OED is his aptly titled book about the experience. After reading his entertaining and enlightening book we now feel, vicariously, a sense of great accomplishment without all the eyestrain.

I liked your interesting comment, David. I can't imagine reading all of that and I AM a reader. You have opened my eyes up to a whole different realm and I think it is a bit out of this world.
